Borthwick names squad for summer tour
Marcus Smith will return to England's starting XV to face Japan on Saturday as Steve Borthwick's side continue their preparations for the World Cup.
Smith missed the Six Nations with a foot injury but has recovered in time to start at fly-half against Japan in Tokyo.
Borthwick has made a number of changes to the team that beat Wales in their final Six Nations match, with Smith replacing George Ford at fly-half and Ollie Lawrence coming into the midfield in place of Henry Slade.
England will be looking to build on their Six Nations victory when they face Japan, who are ranked 10th in the world.
The match will be a good test for Borthwick's side as they prepare for the World Cup, which will be held in France later this year.
